My computer tells me I have 2 days to activate Windows... guess I gotta do that thing again to get another month of time for using the trial version... but I need Jose's help to walk me through on how to do that. =3=;

Granma said she'd pay my scholarship for a year if I set up a budget for myself. Which is fine and practical.
Then she & dad & Ronni get all into the whole "this is how you do it" mode of conversation, which makes me feel like they're trying to control me like I'm still not an adult..?
Which pisses me the fuck off.
And I let Ronni know, while we're in the car driving around town to do shopping. And it eventually boils down to my being irritated that I can't know the figures for the car insurance & cellphone bills so I CAN PAY THEM OFF MYSELF. If I knew those figures, I'd set aside the money for them, and I wouldn't NEED to be told how to budget, cuz I could do it myself. >8(
So Ronni agreed that it was the best thing for me, AND I'M SO HAPPY BECAUSE I'VE BEEN WONDERING WHEN THE FUCK THEY'D LET ME PAY THE BILLS ON MY OWN.
SO.
$560 to state farm, twice a year.
$70 to AT&T monthly, bumping me up to unlimited text messaging.
$90 for health insurance monthly.
$40 to Schools First credit union monthly.
$100 for my own spending of choice monthly.
$the rest to Chase.

PAY DAY TODAY!!! WOOOOO~~~
Got some xmas gifts and a few things for myself after work.... I was feeling antsy around 4, so I used half of my incentive time and left a half hour early. I do believe I like this incentive time concept, yessss...
I finally finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance... the ending was intense. I thought it was gonna be depressing, but luckily I was wrong. But the Afterward was depressing. 8( Buuuuut still very thought provoking, which is what I like best about the book.
Then I started and finished the audiobook The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama. It was a much easier listen. 8)
I'll start Carl Sagan's Contact tomorrow.

It really grabbed my attention today. I think I'll be finishing it tomorrow, if I can follow it well enough.
It's great, but please don't ask me to tell you what he talks about. The whole thing leaves my mind when I try to just think about it.
It makes me think about people, which I probably already brood over more than I should. It makes me think about people, capitalism, how my friends say how unhappy they are living in this country... and then that makes me wonder how difficult it would be to relocate to live in another country, and which countries would be best to move to, blah blah blah blah.
When I think about it long enough, and it doesn't take very long, I just want to let the whole thing go and turn my focus into myself. That's where I'm most comfortable.
( quotes on insanity from Pirsig's book )

So while I'm not feeling 100% festive yet, it is one of the advantages of the season that people start bringing in gobs of nom-y food to share. I'm trying to be restrained, but man is it difficult. We're WAY beyond simple cookies at this point. I think I'll bring in some cheese and veggies tomorrow to try and stem the sugar tide.

Jose fixed my email so now I can send them. He had to uninstall Thunderbird and set up Outlook for me to use instead, so now it's all sorted out. Jose is my herooooo~ =3=

So my attempts of melting candy into the shape of a star were disastrous..... which left me with making sugar cookies instead. The first sheet I cooked came out a little over done, so I took Angela's idea and sandwiched them with some cake frosting in the middle. I thought of making my own frosting, but I knew I'd have far more than I'd need. 8P The second baked sheet came out pretty much perfect, so I left them as is. I might put frosting or icing on them later.

So I guess dad's big Christmas gift this year was A NEWWWWW CAMERA! He traded in his old one he got years ago(which had cost him uber bucks at the time) at Sammy's for $75 and put it towards a digital Nikon one.... and I have no idea how much it cost.
Doesn't matter. Dad's not a photographer, and he doesn't take pictures as a hobby.
He's been trying to figure it out with as little manual reading as possible, as to be expected. I helped him figure out how to take rapid shutter pictures, so now he mostly has fun doing that and playing them back and laughing with boyish glee at how neat that is.
